Two-Cup Kind of Day

Walter had training in Tulsa on Monday and Tuesday, so it was me and the kiddos. For some reason, I get myself worked up and freaked out about these things (being alone) and so I let Max sleep with me. It actually went fine - both kids were pretty easy and low maintenance. Ha - they were saving it up for last night.

Last night was pretty awful. Caroline is hard to put to bed if we wait too long. Well, last night, I didn't get her wrapped up and fed in time, so she would wake up the instant we put her on the mattress over and over. She would cry and fight sleep in the swing or being rocked. We are still having issues with Max holding his #2, which makes him miserable, and thus makes us miserable, because he cries and whines nonstop. He also refused to go to sleep until well after 10. I'm not sure why he was fighting it so hard, but would fall asleep and wake up crying and saying he wasn't tired. Not only that, for some reason he only wanted Mommy, and would tell Daddy to "go away!" which really annoyed me. I certainly wasn't being the nicer of the two parents, so not sure why he only wanted hugs from me. He even pulled me out of bed a few times crying, and I was SO mad because I was sure he was going to wake up the baby.

Max ended up in bed with us because of his crying. I assume his belly was hurting from the not pooping. He just will not listen to us when we explain that he is hurting himself by trying to hold it. I am at my wits end with trying to get him to go. I don't even care if he goes in his pants (well, I kind of do care, because I am SICK. TO. DEATH. of cleaning his underwear/pull ups) but I'm really concerned with the effects of holding it.

Caroline was up once, and in a move that's not common for her, wanted to STAY up. Of course she did. I fed her and let Walter deal with getting her back down, because I was SO over it last night.

Of course this morning, Max was a ball of sunshine. And by that, I mean he was the exact opposite. This morning was definitely one where I was pretty happy to come to work. Also, one where I was pretty happy to see a full pot of coffee.
